The Winery

OUR DREAM HAS BECOME A REALITY

The “Domeniile Dascălu” winery is our family dream, come true, to reveal the incredible potential of the Romanian land by creating interesting and memorable wines, produced from Romanian and international grape varieties, with a constant harvest quality. In all the years of existence, the name Domeniile Dascălu has become a synonym for quality, and we aim to develop this trend with each year that follows.

5 years ago we took the first steps towards realizing the dream of building a new winemaking center, where, with the knowledge and skills acquired over the years, with perseverance and work, we could create our wine.

Thus in 2023, we completed the new Domeniile Dascălu winery, located in the middle of our vineyard on the Tiganului Hill. It is a modern, avant-garde building, technically designed according to our requirements, so that it perfectly corresponds to the style of our wines.

The production capacity is up to 500,000 bottles per year, red, white and rose wines. The winery is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and oak barrels of the highest quality.

The tasting room is integrated into the production area and, while enjoying the wine, you can also observe some stages of the winemaking technological processes.

We have always been motivated only by the thought of creating wines with style, with special personalities and with a remarkable complexity, which reveal the potential of the microregional terroir of the Mehedinți – Vânju Mare wine growing area, using friendly technological practices. At the same time, we are proud to continue the tradition of these places blessed by nature. The viticultural history of the area dates back to the Bronze Age, traces of amphorae for wine storage being discovered in the “La Cazărmi” archaeological site.

The viticultural potential of the Rogova – Vânju Mare vineyard has been recognized for millennia. The Romanians also contributed to the development of viticulture by introducing new varieties of grapes and reorganizing the plantations in Ancient Dacia. Grapes and ears of wheat were often depicted on Roman coins.

Therefore, the Domeniile Dascălu winery represents an area with a winemaking tradition handed down from historical times. Here history meets the present, and Domeniilor Dascălu winery offers an exciting journey into the world of wine, with a passion for quality wines.
